Students in each year are divided into four class sections labelled A through D. A class teacher is attached to each section and remains with it for at least one academic session. There are three opportunities for class teachers to meet formally with their students on a weekly basis:

1. Daily, during registration
2. Weekly, Guidance lessons
3. Weekly, Personal-Social Education (PSE)

HGSS sets ultimate emphasis on the academics and morals especially in this era of moral decadence. To this end, the school sees that the students are academically equipped and morally balanced.

We use the curriculum and subjects in line with the current NERDC syllabus.

HGSS employs the presence of God in and around the school by beginning and ending activities with prayers. The holy Mass is celebrated every day in the school and other spiritual activities: prayers, societies, catechism, moral instruction, Bible study etc are taken care of as specified in the school time table.

The sacraments: Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation are also given great attention and carried out when duly prepared.

At HGSS, we believe in sound supervision and guidance in order to have good behaviour and the right attitude towards peaceful living and successful careers for a sustained life and service to humanity.

In order to lose sight of the future the academic and moral success of our students, the services of trained Career Guidance Counsellors and school psychologist are in place to assess the student abilities, potentials and choices.

Security in the school is given paramount attention. We have the services of armed security personnel from two companies and the government in addition to the necessary precautions taken by the school, parents and guardians.
